Raoni Barcelos published his first comments after the shock loss of Raul Rosas Jr. on Saturday’s UFC Vegas 121 main event.
Barcelos was in hospital after he was suddenly unconscious in the fifth round of his match against Rosas at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Medical personnel immediately entered the cage, and Barcelos was finally taken out of the coffin.

Crowned Ariel Helwani said hours after the event that Barcelos regained consciousness and was able to talk with fingers and toes. The UFC issued a follow-up update late Saturday night acknowledging that Barcelos is “stable, alert and responding with full range of motion.”
On Monday, Barcelos shared the renewed encouragement on social media, writing in Portugal in the comments section of post-UFC Brazil.

The coach of Barcelos, Davi Ramos, posted a follow-up video on Monday on social media, ruling out a stroke and a heart attack as the culprit due to the loss of consciousness of Barcelos. In the video, Barcel’s father jokes that his son is hell to be released from the hospital.

“He didn’t have a stroke, not a heart attack, nothing like that, but we still don’t have a reason for it. We’re waiting for the results of other tests. But he’s doing well.”
Scary ending in Saturday’s battle to be avoided, another impressive moment from Barcelo. The 39-year-old veteran entered the fifth round in front of all three judges’ scores and appeared to be just minutes away from extending his UFC winning streak to six.
Barcelos and Rosas were both awarded $100,000 bonuses for the UFC Vegas 121 fight of the night.
