No Fantasy Targets: The 5 Most Polarizing Players of Week 7

We have five Yahoo rankers every weekand this column will look at the five buzzest names of the week. I’m looking for players where the real disagreement is, and I’ve used a little “coefficient of variation” to find just that. These will not be tinkered with until kickoffs, so please check back on our website weekly page rankings and Sunday AM sit/stand is the absolute last start.

These blurbs are also in Blueprint, which is my weekly column and analysis column. RB version it is about Wednesday; while the WR version and ” QB/TE/K/DEF version they are every Thursday before Thursday night itself.

Fannin is only the TE16 on TE19 usage this season. It’s safe to say Fannin has a new role under new HC Todd Monken. One thing to summarize is just that: Fannin has no screen targets this year. Last week’s 2.8 half-expected PPR points were a career low. I don’t want to go back to the T1 state of the bank just because Monk calls the games with Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion. It sits on the river TE2.

The Titans rank 24th in average PPR points allowed to TEs, giving up 8.2 points per game. Mark Andrews found the end zone against Tennessee for an average of 11.2 PPR points in Week 4, but no tight end has topped 34 yards receiving against them in four weeks. Cleveland enters as a 1.5-point road favorite with a tacit total of 19.5 points (24th).

We confirm that Jordan Mason will be in the game later. The expectation is yes. Back in Week 1 when healthy, Jones started the game and finished as RB24 in RB30 practice. The time is equally divided, to the goal in which each was appropriate. Aaron Jones Sr. played well while Mason was injured, so he deserves a better chance in the short term. The Vikings will be wary of carrying Jones’ workload with the offense, however, and Mason will be fresher as he’s dealing with just a finger injury.

The chicken matchup is one to target. The sixth-most fantasy points allowed to RBs this season and the men firing up the floor. The Vikings have a 24.0-point team total as a touchdown. This is enough for the flex value.

Najee Harris was released so that Skattebo could be benched in Week 6 this week. Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary aren’t typically thought of as early morning bell cows, but we’ll learn about their rising roles. In retrospect, the Giants’ RB room averaged an expected 19.5 PPR points. Until it is proved otherwise, it will be roughly split in three ways. If Skattebo can take half of that, then it’s RB3/FLEX.

On top of an uncertain role, the Giants have a low team total as they play in Houston, who brought their LBs back into the lineup and brought DeMeco Ryans back to play as their receiver. Houston is third best in rushing yards allowed per game (83). JJ McCarthy will start in the new offense for the first time in the worst conditions. New York has a team-high 16.25-point, worst week. Exactly like that.

Corum always looks pretty and pretty good on tape. He continues to be a complementary backup behind Kyren Williams, ranking RB36 in average PPR points per game in RB48 practice over his last four appearances. His role doesn’t fluctuate too much but he’s at his best when the Rams are in control of the game, as Williams will gobble up receptions when he’s clearly pulling. Corum carries a mere 7.8 RB3 shots per game while the Rams’ team total is pretty high during the bye weeks. Even with RB15 and RB14 finishes in recent games, it’s best to take the long view here. He was RB33 and RB30 in expected games in half of PPR points. He just ran really hot.

The Packers were the opposite backfield bargain, seventh in average PPR points allowed to RBs at 21.7 points per game. Las Vegas was particularly vulnerable on the ground, ranking sixth in rushing points allowed to RBs. First of all, the opposing comments placed against them recently huge fantasy: James Cook III (RB3), Rhamondre Stevenson (RB10) and Kenneth Walker III (RB2). The Rams, who haven’t had red zone extraordinaire Davante Adams in 10 weeks, are 4.5-point road favorites with a total of 26 points (fifth).
