Milwaukee Brewers vs. Tampa Bay Radio (1), 8:00 PM ET
MIL: Shane Drohan (7-5, 4.19 ERA, 95 DRA-);
TB: Griffin Jax (8-10, 3.53 ERA, 81 DRA-).

Drohan took the mound against the Dodgers in basically the same spot in the NLCS against the Dodgers. The inning just went on. Not trying, but probably trying too hard. The speed in the peaks was two ticks; There were three broken balls. This is like making a teaspoon recipe and mistaking it for a tablespoon. You don’t know until you can’t feel your tongue.
For what it’s worth, he struggled to get a feel for the fastball, throwing sinkers for 14 of his 25 pitches (to go along with three other four-seamers). He didn’t do it all year, which might provide some insight into how Milwaukee thought about the moments under the microscope compared to the rise. It is unclear how long they let him go. He hasn’t pitched more than four innings since early September, before being moved from a conversion to a pure relief role.
Jax is in a similar position. After he transitioned fully into the rotation, he pitched as many as five or six innings per outing and up to 25 strikeouts. It’s the end of the regular season to get through it. The purpose of needing time is not to die while walking the thinnest and highest tightrope possible. Four innings of three innings against Cleveland two weeks ago wasn’t exactly ringing. He has relied on the sinker in that aspect more than during the course of the season, but his use is in line with how he developed it in the part after the middle of September. He invaded the right against the guards, but he was not afraid to tear apart the leftists as well.
Both of these last two were encamped on the 15th of October. It had been years since either had pitched this many innings anywhere. They are more or less open at this point, although Jax stands a chance of going further. There are two reasons primarily for the pure bullpen games of both teams. One thing is that the whole section below is in relief. Another thing is that the game preview script is like this, an exercise in myths, and we’re all humble.
