The family of women from Ocala-based Glen Hill Farm has been cultivated for decades with quality, especially within the domestic state. In the opening session of the 2026 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. At the October Annual Sale, that quality once again shined brightly in his auction.
Just minutes after the hammer was first released on Oct. 6, peace was made for the two-day OBS October Sale as Hip 12, a Glen Hill bay filly homebred by Girvin, elicited a top price of $190,000 from agent Marette Farrell for CJ Thoroughbreds leading into Tuesday’s session.

As one of their top selling items at the October auction, Glen Hill used to be something. In the 2025 edition of the sale, Glen Hill sold three of the top six offerings that included Medinah, a daughter of OBS in Malm Graduate, which brought the sale topping price of $275,000.
Offered and bred by Glen Hill Farm, the Girvin filly is out of the winning Curlin mare Jew Guilt and a half-sister to stakes winner Inscribed Rule. In a sale that values mostly physical sums, this box is fully checked. The fact that the late Girvin, who passed away suddenly at Airdrie Stud in August, drove another factory to push Farrell to tend.
“I thought she was physically outstanding. We are big supporters of Girvin and we are very sad for Airdrie that she has unfortunately passed,” said Farrell, who said the filly will be retained by CJ Thoroughbreds for the race. “She was really a shooter in her ascent. CJ Thoroughbreds, who we support, one more space and we really wanted to get a fill. We were very lucky last weekend that the fill was named Sis who was third (in the Grade 1 Frizette) so everything fell into place. I’m glad to get her. It’s thrilling.”
A woman’s family satisfaction inspires her confidence. Jewish Sin from the stakes-winning Wildcat-breds Wildcat Heres filly Coco Wildcat, and hails from the family of Ivanavinalot, the mother of Hall of Famer Songales.

“It’s an old Florida family, so we bought into it,” said Craig Bernick, president of Glen Hill Farm. “It is indeed the same family as Songavis if you look hard at the race. We had communities in Curlin and we like to buy mares from Curlin from fast pedigrees. We dare you if you bring good horses you will find them anywhere. I am happy with the price but I am not surprised.
“(The Girvin filly) is well-bred, but she’s also very pretty. She looks like she’ll stay in training and hopefully run at two.”
Girvin pointed out that the rain-soaked opening session produced both average and median gains in the corresponding session last year with gross research only ticking after the 2025 event. At the close of business on Tuesday, the total received of $3,525,000 from 129 head sold was barely down from $3,562,600 from 160 head produced in the first session in 2025. The average increased to $27,326 over $22,266 last year with the median increasing from $15,000 in 2025 to $20,000 in Tuesday’s session.
The RNA percentage for Tuesday came in at 32.1 percent compared to 25.9 percent last year.

“We sold one today for $190,000 and one for $25,000. It’s kind of a sale,” Bernick said. “It’s a good sale and there are a lot of buyers here. If you have a nice horse, buy it. That’s what you’re looking for.”
The first crop demanders are known at the anniversary market, which shows itself with 120 Hip., A bay chick from Pappacap brought the second-highest price of the session when Willow Creek Ranch sold for $120,000. Colin Brennan Bloodstock consigned to the Highlander Training Centre, a colt out of the Honor Code Mare Quiet Talk and a half-brother to the multiple stakes winner Just Be Quiet.
“This guy was super. He was just in a league of his own, especially with the Pappacaps that I saw,” Brennan said. “The man stood out among the boys in my opinion. I thought he was the one who presented himself well here, he was really well received and it clearly showed from the result.”
There were four six-figure horse sales in Tuesday’s session including Hip 144, a bay filly by Mandaloun that went for $115,000 to breeder Saffie Joseph Jr./Stephen Rousseau, and Hip 175, a bay colt by Lagenia that sold for $100,000 to Sweepers Ros.
