The Tampa Bay Rays have dug themselves into a deep and deep hole heading into Game 4 of the 2026 World Series, as the Milwaukee Brewers hold a 3-0 series lead and win one of the first championships in franchise history. A win would also make Milwaukee the first team to sweep the World Series since the 2012 San Francisco Giants and the first to sweep both the League Championship Series and the World Series since the LCS became a best-of-seven in 1985.
The first pitch was set at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tropicana Field in St. Louis. Petersburg, Florida.

The Brewers continued their upset of the Rays with a 10-1 sweep in Game 3 on Monday. Starting pitcher Robert Gasser allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings, the smallest streak, and Milwaukee broke open in the eighth and fifth inning to take a 10-0 lead. By the time Tampa Bay finished ninth, the damage had long been done.
In Game 4, the Brewers will hand the ball to right-hander Dustin May (7-9, 4.70 ERA) with a chance to catch. May’s last start for Milwaukee came in their only loss this season, Game 3 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres, in which he allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 3 over 3 innings.
The Rays will face Griffin Jax (8-10, 3.53 ERA) with his season on the line. He’ll be hoping to improve on his previous start against the Rangers in the Cleveland ALCS, in which he allowed 5 hits and 3 earned runs over 4 innings, including a leadoff home run by Petey Halpin. Jax has a 6.00 ERA in six innings this season, two in relief against the New York Yankees in the ALDS.

Burns posted a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts. He only threw 11 pitches, which bodes well for his chances of getting some extra work in Milwaukee.

Abner Uribe in the fifth farm. The Brewers are trying to finish this game with him, Aaron Ashby and Trevor Megill, neither of whom moved into camp yesterday, but also heavy in a game where they don’t have a lead yet.

Kevin Kelly limited the damage to one in the top of the fifth by working around two on a Christian Yelich walk.

Brewers No. 9 hitter David Hamilton, the MLB leader in hits, one homer off Griffin Jax clubs.
This game was once again tied, as Hamilton immediately found redemption for that scoring error. What Jax will do is that Kevin Kelly enters the game with the Brewers’ top order going up.

It is important to note that these calls are judgment calls made by the referee and cannot be challenged. However, the Rays were able to get a break in that scoring play.

Tampa Bay, as Chandler Simpson runs into the flow, there will be no double play, but then it gets picked up and handled in the rundown.

The call confirmed: Hamilton did not tag Caminero. The Rays officially have the lead again.

With Junior Caminero on second and one out, Jonny DeLuca hit grounder David Hamilton to third base. Hamilton tried to tag the runner, missed, then grounded out to first. That will be Tampa Bay’s run, even if the Brewers challenge the call.

Dustin May stays in the bottom of the fourth, leading off Junior Caminero with a single to left. That will make the Brewers right-handed, as JoJo Romero enters from the bullpen.

Jax Griffin records the sixth hitter of the night, getting Garrett Mitchell in the top of the fourth, but this suddenly feels a bit sad for the Rays, who rested the Brewers’ bullpen before them after May.

And now the third pitch of the field continues to go with the two outsiders to the brewery. Kevin Kelly warms up in the bullpen.

Jax Griffin had two outs in the top of the fourth. He then allowed a single to Sal Frelick, who scored one pitch later on a double by Cooper Pratt.
