The first press conference for the megafight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua had an atmosphere that few expected.
Fury and Joshua, two of the biggest names in boxing, will finally face off on Wednesday for their now official WBA super heavyweight title on Dec. 11. They went to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Although occasionally fired, Fury and Joshua, who talked trash to each other for a decade, were mostly friends.

Joshua also tickled Erinnys in their faceoff. And in the press conference before him, Joshua also praised some of Eumenes’ first statements.
“Listen, one thing, I say, right? Everything is a joker, and every show is trying to sell,” said Erinnys. “Listen, this guy is a two-time heavyweight champion and an Olympic gold medalist. He’s been a role model and the back-to-back British boy boxer for years. I find myself mostly defending my archival in the fans that I meet in the street. I say to them, “If you could get 100 percent of what he’s done here, you’d do well.” As you say, we’re clearly here to fight, and we want a fight, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“He’s been in the party for 10 years. The rise of both fights has been phenomenal. We’ve had our ups and downs, and finally we’ve arrived at this moment. I’m 38. Is it f * ck too late? It’s icing on the cake of two of the biggest achievements to throw down in front of 80,000 people and win the best man.
Furious, he hopes to have a pint of Guinness with Joshua after the fight regardless of the outcome, to which Joshua jokingly replies, “I don’t know, I don’t trust you.”

When Joshua was asked about Fury’s 2023 decision win against Francis Ngannou, whom Joshua handily knocked out, Joshua took the high road.
“With Ngannou, as he wanted to impose his will, and my will is stronger, and I took the victory,” said Joshua. “I trained against Ngannou like I did with any other fighter, so did Fury, and there are comparisons in the fights, of course. But he and I did not walk in the ring. I can’t say that I will do this because he did this to the fighter or I didn’t do that to the fighter. However, we did not get in the ring, but it is on December 11, which is amazing.
“All these comparisons don’t mean (anything). We all testify that if we put two fists in each other’s face and body, the better man will win.”
