The shocking news of Brad Keselowski and RFK Roads leaving at the conclusion of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season has many asking questions. One of those questions is perhaps the most talked about since the news broke.

In a statement on the matter, Keselowski made it clear that he has no plans to retire from NASCAR as of yet. However, with just about every team having a driver locked up for next year, the 42-year-old only has so many options.

NASCAR Insider believes Brad Keselowski could go to the CAR Series
Jordan Bianchi, motoring reporter for The Athletic, expressed doubt on Keselowski’s ascension to the full-time Cup Series in 2027. But what Bianchi has heard from sources is that the 36-time Cup Series winner is talking about racing at a lower level in the NASCAR series next year.

“I’m not anticipating a move where Brad Keselowski is going to end up in the Cup Series next year. What I do know, though, is that there have been conversations where Brad could ride in another NASCAR series fully,” Bianchi said.
What is this lower series? Craftsman Truck Series.
Bianchi said Keselowski, a season winner in the Manufacturer’s Truck Series and a former series team owner, has had talks about potentially doing much in the series next year.
However, given that Keselowski is already a proven Cup driver with 36 wins and a championship, Bianchi said he was not willing to explore the 42-year-old’s approach.

“I saw his name attached to the Truck Series opportunity, potentially. Now, whether Brad wants to do it or not, we’ll see. Maybe Brad doesn’t want to go run the Truck Series,” Bianchi said.
While it would eventually be a step down, Bianchi believes that if Keselowski can go down to the Truck Series and have great success, he may have a chance to return to the Cup level in 2028.
“To be in the Truck Series for a year, maybe it’ll be a great placeholder for him,” Bianchi said.
Brad Keselowski, RFK Racing Departing Roads After 2026
The bombshell rift between Keselowski and RFK came to light on Tuesday.

Keselowski drove for Team Penske from 2010-2021, winning 34 races and the 2012 Cup championship. The Michigan native has left Penske after 2021 to join forces with owner Jack Roush, running Roush Fenway Racing for RFK Racing.
Keselowski’s presence renewed the team. After Roush Fenway Racing went winless from 2018-2021, RFK Racing had only one winless season (2025) and made at least one car in three of the five Chase seasons.
Keselowski won one race as a co-owner of RFK Racing, which comes to Darlington in May 2024.
