Chris Eubank Jr apologizes and retracts Robert Smith and Eddie Hearn comments

Chris Eubank Jr has issued an apology to the British Boxing Board, and general secretary Robert Smith for his past comments.

Eubank Jr. has been fined multiple times by the BBBofC, most notably when he hit rival Conor Benn with an egg in the build-up to the first two fights.

In the build-up to the second leg between the two at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November, Eubank Jr made a series of comments about Smith, BBBoC and Eddie Hearn from Matchroom, which he has now retracted.

In a statement on social media, Eubank Jr said: “In a press conference held on September 17, 2025 to publicize the current fight between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn, I made a statement about Mr. Smith and the British Boxing Board Limited (the “Board”), including Mr. Smith in the back pockets of the Matchroom and Mr. Eddie put me towards his pockets.

“I accept that these statements are false and without any basis. I agree that neither Mr Smith nor the Board is corrupt and fully retract my statements.
