There is no reason elite RBs continue to come at a premium in fantasy football drafts. In about three weeks of action in 2026, we’ll see what happens when we’re expected at RB and we’re forced to sift through the endless light options in the middle and late rounds. This is more about the future than now, but it’s worth noting – always think about next year (a little).
Much remains to be seen in the flow of the backfield commissions as we enter Week 4 of the season. For fantasy football managers, it’s been a frustrating ride if you’ve been asked to count on the backs of one of the teams we cover. Let’s go into it.

Seahawks
I play | Carries | Receptions | Total Cars | Touchdowns | Fantasy Points |
Jadarian Price | 5 | 1 | 22 | 0 | 0.70 |
Emanuel Wilson | 9 | 0 | 14 | 0 | 1.4 |
George Holland | 3 | 5 | 58 | 0 | 9.3 |
This is a whole lot to be solved. For starters, we didn’t think this game was going to be a negative script for the Seahawks running backs, going up against a vulnerable secondary in Washington. But the Emperors won 33-31 and forced Seattle into a more than heavy write-up.
Second, Price fumbled again. It’s never good to see what rookies can do. This makes two straight games for Price, who is also nursing a shoulder/chest injury. He only saw six touches, as both Wilson and Holani got more work.
Third, if the Seahawks play in most of these drafts, which is probably unlikely, they’ll focus on Holland, who had a decent game catching the ball. He was Seattle’s most effective back in Week 3 — both through the air and on the ground.

Losing value feels like a lead role. He kind of lost last week, but we chalked it up to an injury (perhaps a fumble). But now it’s a real mission where Price sees even less work, especially with Zach Charbonnet’s return on the horizon.
This could become a situation where Wilson gets the job done and Holland gets mixed up on the downs if Price can’t stop fumbling/stay healthy. Wilson and Holani are proactive pickups if you are in high form where your team is fairly stable. They’re not players you’d want to count out, but they’ll have some value, especially with byes, on a good team with question marks at RB.
Los Angeles rocks
I play | Carries | Receptions | Total Cars | Touchdowns | Fantasy Points |
Omarion Hampton | 15 | 0 | 56 | 0 | 5.6 |
Keaton Mitchell | 8 | 3 | 47 | 1 | 12.2 |
Before we talk about the backfield, the signs are showing better on the road toward the Bills in two weeks. But they also lost almost three straight games by twenty-six and twenty; 24-16 Bills in Week 3, but still — pretty weird.

Anyway, Week 3 didn’t go well if you put a big strength in Hampton, who had a solid showing against the Raiders last week. This week, Mitchell was cutting into Hampton’s workload, and he looked like a better back, averaging 6.5 yards per carry (to 3.7 for Hampton). When Hampton couldn’t find the end zone in the red zone, Mitchell stepped in and scored. It wasn’t the only case that Hampton was trying to find paydirt in the red zone.
This is not a situation where you need to go into the Hamptons full of panic. We don’t even need FAB to empty the wallet to add Mitchell, although I would consider pursuing him if we had the former on the roster. Mike McDaniel has trolled fantasy managers before and will keep doing that, it seems. Hampton looks more of a RB2 risk than a sure fire RB1, something we thought from his draft season ADP.
Washington Emperors
I play | Carries | Receptions | Total Cars | Touchdowns | Fantasy Points |
Jacory Croskey-Merritt | 19 | 1 | 43 | 0 | 4.8 |
Rachel White | 8 | 1 | 41 | 1 | 10.6 |
JCM was seen as a trendy sleeper draft, the target of managers going with most of the No RB or Hero RB builds. The production wasn’t quite there, although the participants were somewhat tough, and the volume is certainly there. Croskey-Merritt has double-digit touchdowns in all three games this season, though in Week 3 the Seahawks defense couldn’t do much with him.

It is well; we know the obvious parts, just the production work to follow. At least we know that Marcus Mariota can float the offense while cutting out Jayden Daniels. The Colts and Giants are coming up in the next few weeks, games in which we could see JCM pop.
White remained in the role of shortstop but battled a shoulder injury in the game and was not heavily targeted by Mariota. The lack of work could also have to do with the scripted game, with the Chiefs surprisingly playing with a lead most of the afternoon. White scored a touchdown, though.
Touching JCM will give me hope that he will have some spike weeks to come. Bear it there. White is likely not without Croskey-Merritt’s injury and then finally getting the backfield, he may simply be a secondary option. The album is a dangerous flex play in PPR formats. JCM remains in RB3 flex territory but could soon break out.
Houston Texans
I play | Carries | Receptions | Total Cars | Touchdowns | Fantasy Points |
David Montgomery | 11 | 2 | 48 | 0 | 5.8 |
Woody marks | 5 | 1 | 21 | 1 | 8.6 |
The Texans entered another week without top end Nico Collins and it was another week in which the offense struggled. This season, against the Colts defense, he was shut out by the Ravens and Chiefs in the first two games of the season. Nothing was released by David Montgomery and/or the Wildcats on Sunday.

That Week 1 explosion from Montgomery always feels like ages ago; The captains are now contemplated, if, feeling right, they committed this crime. Not only did they steal Monty’s image again, but they also stole a TD from him.
This backfield is volatile, and to make matters worse, the Texans have some pretty tight matchups coming up — versus Dallas and Tennessee in the next two weeks. So while we may be in Montgomery now, it’s still in your line to be an RB2 or flex option. Don’t expect a place for weeks all the time from Montgomery, but who knows what. It keeps eating away at Montgomery’s work and you wonder if he continues to be a viable starter in deeper formats. If nothing else, Markes is an OK flex option in deeper, PPR formats.
