The players in Hayden’s higher
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Cardinals — 39.5 ppg. receiving docks
AVG Yahoo vs | Lowest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
+6.6 | 52 | 36 | 16 |
Marv had a productive Week 4 for the Cardinals, even if the box was overwhelmed again. He had a big ball-and-drag TD early in the game, but he also pulled two DPIs in and around the end zone that were designed for him. The Cardinals also had that lone receiver at the goal line for a quick slant that was, of course, completely blocked. Harrison is going to be significantly better than this WR88 in WR84 practice, and I’ve noticed more buy-in from him in recent weeks. If it’s a week to buy low, it’s against the Lions at home with the Wildcats. This will be especially true if Jeremiah Love (ankle) is bound.

The matchup is as good as it is course. At home against the Lions, the Cardinals have a secondary that ranks second in passing yards per game (327) and second in fantasy points per game to WRs (36.4). It was the boundary and downfield WRs that gave them the most trouble, with Tetairoa McMillan (WR1 overall), Garrett Wilson (WR3), Josh Palmer (WR22) and Chris Olave (WR6) all having excellent outings.

Davante Adams, WR, Rams — 59.5 ppg. receiving docks
AVG Yahoo vs | Lowest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
+5.4 | 18 | 8 | 10 |
Adams is WR16 in WR6 practice in 18 games with Puka Nacua from last year. Last week after a number of tip-top explosive plays and dropped touchdowns, the underlying numbers were otherwise there with the expected WR10 points (15.6) and nine targets. Nacua is still a baller, but even maybe a step slower while playing with this “pre-hernia” injury, and Adams is moving pretty well on tape right now.
The matchup with Bills is delicious. He’s out of the house on Monday Night Football, and the alum has a body of WRs this year, especially without CB1 Christian Benford. Romeo Doubs (WR8) and Efton Chismus had their SportsCenter moments last week, while Amon-Ra St Brown (WR4) and Nico Collins (WR9) did their thing in the previous issue. A 28.75-point team total (third) is the final clear message to start Adams as an exciting WR1/2.
Jameson Williams, WR, Lions — 62.5 ppg. total yards
AVG Yahoo vs | Lowest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
+2 | 28 | 19 | 9 |
Dud-dud-dud-boom. This story is with Jamo. He had three return receptions, one screen, one rush and one ball on a Cover 3 hole shot up the middle en route to a wild loss for the Panthers. His day could have been bigger when he came down with a couple of SNAP-designed stories (a double-action sideline and a bootleg dig-action story). Williams ended up going WR19 in WR20 practice without a touchdown, and the fact that the Lions defense couldn’t stop him yet again bodes well for Williams’ WR3 this year. This WR45 was used in WR33 this season as a positive return candidate.

RJ Harvey, RB, Broncos — 53.5 ppg. total yards
AVG Yahoo vs | Lowest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
+2 | 29 | 24 | 5 |
JK Dobbins started, but Harvey and Tyler Badie were one of the first four carries in Week 4. Harvey played more first-down snaps than Dobbins, while Badie led the team in late-down snaps as the best defensive option. We’re not using the updated goal-line, but it’s possible Harvey will look more down there with Dobbins struggling. Meanwhile, Harvey’s usage is enough to capture RB3 value, especially in PPR. He’s the RB1 overall with 6.7 receptions per game, including a bonkers 10-catch game last week. Bo Snow’s heavy checkdown offense helps Harvey, even if it hurts the team. Harvey is using RB28 in RB33 this year.

Hayden’s lower players
Jalen Hurts, QB, Eagles — 15.9 ppg. points
AVG Yahoo vs | Highest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
-4.8 | 11 | 21 | 10 |
It already hurts the fantasy starter. LG, back LG, back C and RT on the offensive line, in addition to Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith. It hurts that he’s still a little comfortable throwing the ball up the middle, and defenses have designed how to stop him. This is a 5-man pressure with some stupidity that creates the federal rate of pressure jams, with defenders outside the zone where he wants to throw himself.
Dolett carries a few drafts last week, but he’s nowhere near his absolute peak (26.3 YPG = QB8) and his Tush projection takes a bigger hit when Philly’s team total is 18 points. This is the lowest I’ve ever been going to Dig Dig in a week.

Zay Flowers, WR, Ravens — 69.5 ppg. receiving docks
AVG Yahoo vs | Highest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
-4 | 5 | 15 | 10 |
Flowers won’t have Lamar Jackson around this season, which obviously impacted his efficiency a ton, but OC Declan Doyle is very confident in Flowers being the focal point of the game. Underneath uses methods that must keep his floor high with Tyler Huntley at quarterback. It helps his antennae travel through his stratosphere as he prepares for new situations. Here is WR6 in WR15 practice, between two half games.

Tyler Warren, TE, Colts — 49.5 ppg. in advance
AVG Yahoo vs | Highest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
-3.6 | 5 | 10 | 5 |
The thing is, without Alec Pierce and Keenan Allen last week, Warren could only tally five receptions for 41 yards as TE21 overall. The offense won’t generate many explosive passing games with his style, and the OL has regressed toward its peak a few seasons ago. Warren will always be a short field dominant player without the high end speed and fluidity of true elite TEs. It is good if the expectations are followed. TE13 has been used in TE8 this year, even with injuries.

Tony Pollard, RB, Titans — 54.5 ppg. receiving docks
AVG Yahoo vs | Highest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
-3.6 | 25 | 33 | 8 |
I was distracted by RT JC Latham playing like a total dawg while watching Pollard’s forgotten film. The Titans OL has been somewhat better than expected, yet the QB play is questionable enough to limit Pollard to RB31 average PPR points per game in RB14 practice. Last week, 21.8 points were expected to be a season high, thanks to four top scoring opportunities. The Tyja Spears barely run the ball but are able to get into some passing situations. Pollard is a floorless flex option with just two receptions per game (RB29) and is guaranteed to be the bottom-end of the team’s total.

(Chart by Hayden Winks/Yahoo Sports)
The Texans aren’t quite the same right now with struggling LB and DT play, but they’re still only averaging 84 rushing YPG (fourth best) despite facing James Cook, Chase Brown, Jonathan Taylor and Javonte Williams. The first three were completed before Javonte’s 20 found the end zone three times last week after CeeDee Lamb brought them to the red zone. There is nothing else to say, how great this matchup stinks. Tennessee has a 15.5-point team total. In 12 games with the Titans under 20 points, Pollard averaged 7.6 PPR points with a high of 12.0.

Jeremiah Love, RB, Cardinals — 61.5 ppg. total yards
AVG Yahoo vs | Highest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
-3.4 | 12 | 19 | 7 |
Love injured his right ankle early in the fourth quarter in Week 4. He was frustrated after the game and then shook it pre-snap the next play before limping to the sideline for the final play of the game. It’s his ankle, and he hasn’t looked like it before in the game. A cut off game wouldn’t be the worst idea, but the Cardinals are pushing him to play. In practice, it is limited, with national insiders reporting that he plans to play. I think the state of health, considering the state of health, as it was in the middle of last week;

(Chart by Hayden Winks/Yahoo Sports)
The matchup with the Lions is great, but the Lions pass defense (most YPG allowed) is significantly better than their defense (12th YPG allowed). Still the most fantasy points going to RBs (14th), so the weekly love upside is still very much intact. It shouldn’t be surprising if Tyler Allgeier got more touches this week than we’d like due to injury. The Cardinals’ team-high 24 points are enough to love up the starting upside of RB2/3. My biggest jump rankings for this matchup were Jacoby Brissett, Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Juwan Johnson, TE, Saints — 39.5 ppg. in advance
AVG Yahoo vs | Highest Yahoo Rank | Hayden’s Rank | The difference |
-1 | 8 | 11 | 3 |
Johnson is the TE4 in TE5 usage this season, and has certainly been the TE14 in use in every game this season. In 15 games with Tyler Shough scoring last year, Johnson averaged 9.9 halftime PPR points (TE7). He made countless plays after this season, and Saint Noah Fant (abs) was active on Monday Night Football, leading to a 75% trip rate. That’s slightly between 72% and 62%.
That matchup is what holds him back. The Saints were only allowed 20.5 points against the Vikings’ dismal defense. I’m not sure if their new (struggling) LT is ready, and teams haven’t cracked the code with TEs against DC Brian Flores. Colston Loveland almost had a goose egg in Week 2, when the rest of the TE went scoreless on limited receptions.
