Jannik Sinner is 2026 season after he posted a message on social media on Tuesday saying that he needs treatment for his knee injury.
The five-time Slam champion hasn’t played a trickier game since he won his second straight Wimbledon title in July. While he tried to play again in the summer, he was forced to withdraw from tournaments in North America and Asia.

In his announcement, Peccator said he was cutting short seasons in his long-term career.
“I, together with the doctors, have decided that I need knee treatment, which means that the 2016 season has officially passed,” Peccator said. “The last two years, especially the Turin finish, gave me so many beautiful feelings and emotions, which will be different this year.
“But at the moment, I also need to think about the long term of my life. I can return everything to one hundred percent. I thank you already in advance for your help and I hope to see you myself, soon again in the court.”

Sinner ends the season with a 44-3 record and six tournament wins. He has won five straight ATP Masters 1000 events to start the 2026 season, in India, Miami, Monte-Carlo, Madrid and Rome.
After reaching the semifinals at the Australian Open, Sinner had a 30-match winning streak until he fell to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the second round of the French Open. A knee injury prevented him from playing at the US Open.
Sinner’s time coming to an end means that Alexander Zverev will spend time at No. 1 to complete.
Zverev’s two tournament victories this year came at the French Open and the US Open. He also reached the finals at Wimbledon and the Madrid Open, as well as five semifinals, including the Australian Open.
