Levenson Hits Fourth Homer in Eight Games as Memphis Drops Game Two

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game series and 12-game homestand with an 8-4 loss to the Norfolk Tides (Triple-A, Baltimore Orioles) on Wednesday afternoon at AutoZone Park.

Right fielder Zach Levenson smacked his fourth home run in eight Triple-A games, a two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth inning. The right-handed hitter reached safely three times in the loss and increased his RBI total to 10 with the homer. Levenson posted one of four Redbirds multi-hit lines in the game.

Starting pitcher Pete Hansen (4-5) allowed one run on four hits, walked none and struck out four in 4.0 innings pitched. The Memphis bullpen allowed seven runs, five of which were allowed by Austin Love in the top of the fifth inning. Andrew Schultz, Jared Shuster and Ryan Fernandez each posted a scoreless outing.

The Memphis Redbirds return to AutoZone Park on Thursday, September 10 to continue a six-game series and 12-game homestand against the Norfolk Tides (Triple-A, Baltimore Orioles) with first pitch scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CDT.
