MIAMI — The 10,000th home run in Los Angeles Dodgers history belongs to Mookie Betts.
On Saturday vs. the Marlins at loanDepot park, Betts out an 85.2 mph splitter off Tyler Phillips with two outs in the first inning. The pitch caught the middle of the zone, and Betts hit it a Statcast-projected 399 feet to left-center field. The homer marked his 20th of the season.
Max Muncy followed with a home run to extend the Dodgers’ lead 2-0. He turned on a 95.8 mph sinker down and away, deep to center field. It was his 28th long ball of the season.
The Dodgers have 183 home runs this season.
Betts extended his on-base streak to 10 games. Entering Saturday, he has slashed .333/.442/.667 with six extra-base hits and 13 RBIs during the streak.
