New York Boulders News Release
Pomona, NY – After dethroning the four-time defending Frontier League champion Québec Capitales, the New York Boulders will appear in their first-ever Atlantic Conference Final Series against the Ottawa Titans beginning tomorrow, September 15, 2026.
The Boulders rallied in the Wild Card Series after dropping Game 1 at home, taking Games 2 and 3 at Stade Canac in Québec City, capped by Saturday night’s 16-8 victory in the winner-take-all series finale.
Dating back to August 13, the Boulders have now won six consecutive series for the first time under 6th year manager TJ Stanton.
They went 9-6 head-to-head vs. Québec in 2026, including an unprecedented 6-2 mark on the Capitales’ home field.
New York was 7-4 in their regular season head-to-head vs. the Titans, winning the last two matchups at Clover Stadium on August 25 (4-3) and August 26 (5-1) after taking two of three in their most recent visit to Ottawa Stadium (June 2-4).
Among the individual standouts so far this postseason:
LHP Isaac Rohde: Recorded the save (0.2 IP, 1 BB, 2 K, 15 pitches thrown) in Friday night’s Game 2, then started Game 3 and went six innings for the win. For historical context, the last starting pitcher in MLB to attempt such a feat was RHP Erasmo Ramirez of the 2017 Tampa Bay Rays (May 28-29), but he only lasted 2.1 innings.
OF Matt Polk: Led the Boulders’ offense with a .545 batting average (6-for-11) in the Wild Card Series, going 3-4 with a 2-run HR and reaching base five times in Saturday night’s clincher.
2B Santino Rosso: He and Polk were the only Boulders with at least one hit in every game of the opening round. Rosso was the team’s leading home run hitter during the regular season.
SS Austin Dennis: Saved his best for last in the Wild Card clincher, going 3-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored.
C/DH Jason Agresti: The Boulders’ de facto captain scored three runs Saturday night, cracking two homers and driving in five.
The Boulders’ playoff series win was their first since prevailing in the 2017 Can-Am League Semifinals vs. the New Jersey Jackals.
Before Friday night, they had not won a postseason game since 2019.
