Injury: Low back strain

Status: Landed on the IL on Sept. 4. Has made four appearances, posting a 3.86 ERA, since being reinstated from the 60-day IL on Aug. 23. (Last updated Sept. 4)

Injury: Hernia
IL date: May 17 (retroactive to May 16; transferred to 60-day IL on Aug. 2)
Expected return: September
Status: Began another rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Aug. 25, started again Aug. 27, Aug. 29-30 and Sept. 1. Rehab is going well, and he’s likely to remain with Durham for a little longer. (Last updated Sept. 2)
RHP Edwin Uceta
Injury: Right shoulder impingement, subscapularis strain
IL date: March 25 (retroactive to March 22; transferred to 60-day IL on April 24)
Expected return: 2027
Status: Had a PRP injection in July after a setback while playing catch. Resumed throwing but felt his symptoms return, so he was sent for another MRI. “Not ideal for him,” manager Kevin Cash said. (Last updated Aug. 28)
2B Gavin Lux
Injury: Left shoulder inflammation
IL date: March 24 (retroactive to March 23; transferred to 60-day IL on May 27)
Expected return: TBD
Status: Rehab shut down in mid-July after he received an injection in his right shoulder. Not likely to return in 2026, Rays president of baseball operations Erik Neander said in a radio interview, but playing catch and hit in live BP off Griffin Jax with no issues on Aug. 18. INF Ben Williamson
Injury: Right hamstring strain
IL date: Aug. 7 (10-day IL, retroactive to Aug. 6)
Expected return: Possibly late September
Status: Exited the Rays’ series finale at Coors Field on Aug. 5 after injuring himself running to first base. Manager Kevin Cash said he’s “going to miss some significant time” due to the severity of his injury. (Last updated Aug. 14) More >>
RHP Jonathan Heasley
Injury: Right elbow stress reaction
IL date: June 2 (retroactive to May 29; transferred to 60-day IL on June 8)
Expected return: TBD
Status: After being designated for assignment on May 29 following an outing on May 27, was returned to the roster on June 2 due to an injury he suffered while active with the Rays and placed on IL with no timeline for his return. (Last updated June 8)
RHP Ryan Pepiot
Injury: Right hip inflammation
IL date: March 25 (retroactive to March 22; transferred to 60-day IL on April 14)
Expected return: Spring Training 2027
Status: Underwent season-ending surgery on May 13. Multiple exams revealed “normal” wear and tear on labrum and femoroacetabular impingement, which limited his leg’s range of motion. Expecting a six-month recovery followed by a full offseason to be ready for Spring Training. (Last updated May 13)
