The UFC has suspended Jaqueline Amorim for six months after failing a drug test

Jaqueline Amorim received a six-month suspension after testing positive for a prohibited substance. Research has since shown that a contaminated supplement is likely to blame.

The UFC’s anti-doping program CSAD ( Competition Sports Anti-Doping ) announced the test failure and suspension on Friday.

Amorim (11-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) tested positive for ostarine, a substance that is often debilitating at UFC level and is often linked to food or supplement contamination.

“After reviewing the evidence, CSAD has determined that the exposures found in low-level ostarine contamination rather than consent to voluntary use,” CSAD wrote in a statement.

Ex-competition samples tested on July 29 and Aug. 17. Amorim will be chosen to return to the struggle.

Amorim, 31, is a former IBJJF champion who was not too long ago on a four-fight winning streak in the UFC. After a unanimous decision loss to Mizuki Inoue, Amorim returned to the winning column in May by defeating Loma Lookboonmee in the first round of the armband.

Amorim did not publicly comment on the failure or suspension at the time of publication. He has no history of drug testing issues.
