The Cleveland Cavaliers scored more than twice as many runs in Game 1 of the 2026 American League Championship Series as they did in the entire three-game series at Tropicana Field during the regular season. If they keep pace on their current four-game winning streak on Tuesday, the Rangers will be halfway to their first World Series appearance in 10 years.

Cleveland looks to remain undefeated on the road this season with Tropicana Field in St. Louis. Petersburg, Fla., to face the Tampa Bay Rays at 8 pm ET in Game 2 of the 2026 ALCS. The Rangers overcame their first two-run deficit in the series opener, scoring seven runs over four innings to take a 7-3 victory.
Nathaniel Lowe and Jo Adell each had two RBIs while Chase DeLauter and Patrick Bailey belted singles for the Guardians, who totaled three runs in a three-game sweep at Tropicana Field in July. After scoring just three times while losing the first two games of their AL Division Series against the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland has given up seven runs or seven saves in three of its last four contests.
The Rays, who have allowed just five while trailing the New York Yankees in their division, are also trying for the ALCS after Freddy Peralta. The 30-year-old Dominican right-hander worked 4 2/3 innings in Game 2 of the ALDS, allowing one run and three hits while accounting for no outs. Peralta is 1-2 with a 4.00 ERA in four career games — three starts — against the Guardians but has not contributed to them in the 2026 season.
Cleveland counters with left-hander Parker Messick, who has gone 0-1 in two starts against Tampa Bay this year despite allowing just two runs and nine hits while recording 15 strikeouts over 13 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old rookie made two of his seven starts last year against the Rays, winning both, while giving up a total of one run on 13 boards. Messick still has five innings to work on this deal, but he has gone 6 2/3 overs with four strikeouts while going 0-1 in two shutouts against the White Sox in the ALDS.

One of the 16 games on the schedule is the Montreal Canadiens (2-2-1), Atlantic Division-rival Buffalo Sabers (3-3-0) at 6:30 pm at the Bell Center. Buffalo got their revenge as their first playoff appearance in 15 years ended this past May with a seven-game loss to Montreal in the second round.
Another matchup tabled in Canada’s capital, Canada Tire Center, where St. Louis Blues (2-2-1) visit the Canadian Tire Center to face the Ottawa Senators (5-1-0) at 7:30 pm ET. The Blues came off a 5-3 triumph over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday to stop their three-game skid, while the Senators won their fourth consecutive day after defeating the New Jersey Devils 4-1.
Week 7 of the 2026 college football season kicks off Tuesday with two games, including a Conference USA showdown between the FIU Panthers (3-2, 1-0) and the Jacksonville State Gamecocks (4-2, 2-0) at 8 pm ET at AmFirst Stadium. Jacksonville State, which is looking for a straight victory, has dropped the first three meetings of the all-time series before FIU’s 27-21 triumph at home last year.

The Rays haven’t lost consecutive games at home in nearly two months, including the last of a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox on Aug. 2. they missed three of the first four games against the Baltimore Orioles from Aug. 14-16 left. Tampa Bay also has Freddy Peralta’s winner in each of his last seven starts, including Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees. The SportsLine Projection Model sees the streak continuing as the Rays win Game 2 of the Championship Series in 57% of their simulations. SportsLine expert Micah Roberts (42-33-3, +1182 in last 78 MLB picks) disagrees, however, as he believes rookie left-hander Parker Messick, who is 2-1 with a 1.03 ERA in four career starts against Tampa Bay, will lead the Rangers to their fifth consecutive victory.

Time: 6:30 p.m Location: Montreal | TV: ESPN+ | Stream: Fubo (Try it for free)
SportsLine picks up — Model: Sabers ML (+131) | an expert: Canadiens ML (-155, Matt Severance)
The Sabers and Canadiens had two meetings at the Bell Center in the 2025-26 regular season before Buffalo won two of three there, splitting their series in the second round of the playoffs. Montreal lost their first two home games this campaign before visiting the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, but it was a 1-0 victory that sent them on their way. The Sabers are on the road for the first time since a 6-3 loss at Columbus in their season opener, and the Sportsline projection model likes to emerge victorious as they have their simulations winning 56% of the time. But SportsLine expert Matt Severance (7-3, +565 in his last 10 NHL career reads) is taking the Canadiens back to a winless streak that came two days ago when the Sabers played the Florida Panthers on Monday.

SportsLine picks up — Model: Over 5.5 (-122) | an expert: Blues ML (+10, Todd Fuhrman)
Neither team is on fire offensively this season, with the Patriots tied for 12th in the NHL with 19 goals and the Blues tied for 20th with 14 tallies. However, Ottawa scored four times in its victory over the New Jersey Devils on Monday and St. Louis scored a season-high five goals in its victory against Columbus last season. The SportsLine Projection model doesn’t think clubs will need to convert on Tuesday as the super hits in more than 56% of their simulations. The Blues have won their last three meetings with the Senators, and Sportsline expert Todd Fuhrman (5-0, +576 in the last five NHL reads) likes them to make it four in a row when Ottawa plays for the third time in four days.

SportsLine picks up — Model: Over 43.5 (-112) | an expert: Jacksonville State ML (142, Matt Severance)
While the Panthers are the lowest-scoring team in Conference USA with 94 points in five games, they have 20 or more wins in each of their three games this season – including both of their last two contests. The Gamecocks are second in the conference with 164 points and have scored at least 23 in five straight. FIU and Jacksonville State have met each of the last three years and have combined for 48 or more points in all three meetings. The SportsLine Projection model thinks it will be another high-scoring contest on Tuesday as its simulations have it hitting more than 66% of the time, and has assigned it an “A” grade. SportsLine expert Matt Severance (19-9, +357.5 in his last 28 college football reads) is backing the Gamecocks to post their fourth consecutive 3-0 win at home this season and have gone 12-1 in weekend conference games over the past three years.
