Where then will the Tigers play? They were getting some clues

Where then will the Tigers play?

If it feels like we’ve been asking for a version of this question for a decade, it’s good that we have. Woods has had a rhythm of surgeries and comebacks since 2014, with some of those comebacks going better than others.

About this time there is a different circumstance; In March, Woods was involved in a rollover crash near his Jupiter Island home, spent time being treated for impatience and later pleaded no contest to reckless driving, which resulted in a five-year driver’s license suspension.

A few different woods later. He spoke briefly in June as the PGA Tour announced a revamp of its schedule. In September, he showed up at a Stanford football game and then appeared at the Nexus Cup, an event hosted in New Jersey. And in October he showed TGR Jr. Invitational on the Monterey Peninsula in California. He hits the balls in the range-clinic settings. But he has not yet spoken of his absence or his potential return.

We haven’t seen Woods in a hit-and-run event since the Open Championship in 2024. We saw him in a one-way TGL match in 2026. Where will we hear from him, how ready is he to make his competitive return, and when will we see him play?

Other considerations lead us to this non-exhaustive list of possibilities:

Hero World Challenge (December 2026)

This is where we’ll see the woods next door, and where we’ll hear from him as well – the ever-changing presser he gives to Hero in the Bahamas. It will be interesting to see how much he wants to share about all of the above (and all of the below).

There is also room for him to play; Hero still has three “TBD” openings in his 20-player field. Count Kevin Kisner is among those who think he’s playing. (More on Kisner in a minute).

PNC Championship (December 2026)

In this other place we have seen most of the heads of the woods in their recent sporting careers; Despite varying degrees of health, he gathered himself to you, with his son Charlie by his side. PNC has the benefit of having only two rounds, plus it’s a hassle. This will be their final chance to win before Charlie finishes high school (he’s a senior and committed to St. Florida) so maybe the Tigers are on the clock.

DATE (December 2026)

Enter the final roster announcements for TGL — which include Woods as part of the Thursday Links five-man team — and enter Kisner, Woods’ teammate, who said he told Woods “he wants to play.”

“Rob [McNamara]Tigers guy, he texted me a long text last week, I think, Kisner said on the “Fore Play” podcast last week. “Just telling them what they did in their decisions, how they moved and what the players were going to do, and that Tigers wanted to play a full schedule…”

Full schedule! If you want to see Tiger, TGL seems to be your best bet. As for Kisner’s predicted full Tiger related?

“Both,” he said, “play.” “Couldn’t have more handicaps injury wise. The road is tilted and shot, that’s it, it’s gonna be fun to compete. Go back, get your feet wet at Hero, play with Charlie on Father/Son, play some TGL, get ready for Augusta.”

Genesis Invitational (February 2027)

This feels like a long shot, but it’s worth mentioning because, as with Hero, the woods serve as a host. The Genesis is also the only non-major PGA Tour event Woods has played in the last five years; in 2023 he finished T45 and retired in 2024 with illness.

Lord (April 2026)

If he ever plays competitive baseball, it will be here. Before the event in March, Woods reportedly told the Masters that he was preparing to run — everything we’ve seen from his career suggests that getting ready for Augusta National is his top priority.

Inexperience Invitational (April 2016)

Here’s where we’ll make a little connection point. the woods will be turned in December 51; He was expected to make his PGA Tour Champions debut in 2026. Which of course never happened. But if there is one Campus that makes the most sense, it is here. Woods tacitly signed an endorsement with Insperity in 2025. Insperity then appeared as a Jupiter Bonds sponsor. His Pebble Beach event was officially titled The Tiger Woods Invitational presented by Inexperience. And when the 2027 PGA Tour Champions schedule was released, “Inexperience” included the Texas Wildcats.

It seems that it is likely to be a debut spot for any Woods.

US Open (June 2026)

Golf’s most serious test may not be the logical place to capture Woods’ talents — nor his brown spine — but this year’s tournament at Pebble Beach is certainly more likely. Stone is iconic. This, too, is situated among the greatest triumphs of the Forests, and more than the rest of the heroic abundance. And it’s a slightly shorter, more precise test than some of its counterparts on the US Open cards. (If these feet were winged, we would feel less certain).

US Senior Open (July 2016)

Woods has won every USGA event, from the US June to the US Am to the US Open, which leaves one championship in his sights. Forests registered for the 2026 edition before the final setbacks. Now we’ll see when he makes his debut.

One of the top-up to the USGA woods appearance is the 2028 edition of Crooked Stick, but it’s also plausible to see it in 2017 at the Oaks National in Edmond, Okla.

“The only two men in the history of our sport who have won the US Amateur, the US Open and the US Senior Open: Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer,” said John Bodenhamer, USGA’s Chief Championships Officer. “Tiger won the Am and the Open; he also won the Junior Am. You want to do it alone. So I guess what I’m trying to say is, it’s important to Tiger, and I hope it will be here at Crooked Stick.”
