2026 Silver Slugger: Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, Junior Caminero among finalists for batting award

The finalists for the 2026 Silver Slugger awards are out, with many major league stars in the running to earn batting honors this offseason.

The rating is determined by MLB managers and coaches, who determine the best hitters by position across the league (though not on their own teams). As a result, this year’s list has many top names — stars like Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout, Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber and more — along with many younger up-and-coming stars.

The Chicago White Sox led all teams with four finalists, and are also nominated for the 2026 AL heavyweight team after a strong season. Other teams, such as the Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs, finished as three finalists, with the Brewers’ Jake Bauers and the Tigers’ Kevin McGonigle earning nominations for both infield positions and utility.

All six MVP finalists — Ohtani, Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong and Brewers second baseman Brice Turang for the NL, and Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Álvarez, Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero and Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. for AL – there are also honors.

Winners of the award on 17 Nov. they will be announced. Here is the full list of 2026 Slugger Silver finalists:
