Angela Hill has her 31st UFC fight booked. It returns on December 12 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. At UFC 335, she puts her spot in the ranks on the line against Shanelle Dyer in the strawberry division.
Multiple sources confirmed the fight to Heavy.com after MMA Junkie’s initial report. Hill is currently holding the #14 spot in the UFC Media rankings, though he remains unranked in the Meta rankings. His opponent, Dyer, enters only his third UFC career but has a great chance to fight his way directly into the rankings.
Record holder
Angela Hill has fought in the UFC since 2014 and holds many records in the Women’s Strawweight division. With a 1-0 record, she entered The Ultimate Fighter’s Season 20. She lost to Carla Esparza in an event winner early in the tournament, but won her UFC debut against Emily Kagan. In 2015, she lost twice in the UFC row and was cut from the promotion. Hill went on to Invicta FC, won four fights in a row, including the title, and was recalled to the UFC. He could never enter the division but became a mainstay in the top 15 of the strawberry division.

Hill has had his fair share of struggles against former title challengers but has often had bad luck as the plan has gone the other way. Her best run in the UFC was between 2022 and 2024. She won four out of five fights, only briefly in her only main event fight in the UFC against champion Mackenzie Dern. Last year, Hill started with a win over Souza Ketlen but closed the year with two losses against Jasmin Lucindo and Fatima Kline. In his most recent fight, Hill had a great performance against the One Championship champion and promo newcomer Xiong Jingnan. With a win under his belt, the 41-year-old hopes to lock in a two-fight winning streak with Shanelle Dyer in 2026.

Shanelle Dyer is 16 years younger than Hill. Dyer fought most of his matches in his native England. After three years of fighting as an amateur and winning several titles, Dyer turned to professionals in 2023. Dyer was signed by the PFL after two spectacular knockout wins on the regional stage. He entered the PFL Europe tournament and won three matches in a row. Dyer was supposed to compete in the final, but was unable to compete due to injury. Last year he got a call from the UFC to enter the Contender Series. Charles took the market. In a highly entertaining fight, Dyer suffered his first professional defeat.
He won the market by consensus. UFC President Dana White later admitted that he would love a fight between the two women and release the two contracts. Dyer made her UFC debut earlier this year in front of her home crowd in England against Ravena Oliveira. He finished the Brazilian fighter in the second round, earning himself a ‘Perfection of the Night’ bonus. In his most recent fight, Dyer got another goal. This time she beat Elise Reed by TKO in the third round. Now the competition takes a big step forward when Angela takes on Hill.
