There are five to know on Friday
- The Brewers are World Series bound. Thursday’s game doubles as the Rangers take a 2-1 series lead in the ALCS and the Brewers punch their ticket to the Fall Classic with a 6-4 victory over the Dodgers. Milwaukee has completed the rite of passage of two defending world champions and now has four of the first Commissioner’s Trophy wins in franchise history. Jake Bauers went 4-for-14 in the series and was awarded the NLCS MVP. On the other hand, there’s a lot of blame to go around for the Dodgers’ lackluster no-show side. This could just be the beginning of the end of their dynasty, especially if Tarik Skubal leaves in free agency.
- The Broncos went into overtime fighting. Overcoming Denver’s defense in a 17-14 victory on “Football Night.” Sam Darnold will have nightmares after the unit sacked him five times and intercepted him in two of the Seahawks’ final three games. The Broncos finally got the running game going, but Bo Nix remains the net offense, so it’s good that the group on the other side of the ball continues to step up. Despite the long streak, the AFC West contenders are 4-2 with a fight over the reigning Super Bowl champions.
- The expansion of the College Football Playoff is imminent. CFP is the next business that will change the most formats in its history. Our Matt Zenitz confirmed that the carrier will expand to 24 teams for the 2027 season, pending approval. This change is also likely to eliminate the conference championship game that is stuck in negotiations between, primarily, the Big Ten and the SEC. So what does this bracket look like? If last year’s CFP had drawn 24 teams, North Texas would have been the last team in the field while the top eight seeds — No. 1 Ohio State by No. 8 Oklahoma – received a first round bye. I clearly hate the idea of โโexpansion. As is usually the case with changes in this game, this is about doing the right thing by the players.
- Jalen Dig will miss Week 6 with a blood clot. The Eagles’ quarterback was initially believed to have suffered a calf injury in Week 4, and an ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot that moved, leading the team to preemptively pull it out for at least Sunday’s game against the Panthers. What is a little blood clot, you ask? In short, it’s medically known as superficial vein thrombosis and is generally less serious than deep vein thrombosis โ a condition that has popped up multiple times recently in the NBA. The absence of Tanner McKee in the lineup hurts the pitchers at the biggest opportunity of his career and makes the Eagles even bigger dogs than they started. From a great perspective, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott used this opportunity to encourage athletes to be as open as possible with medical personnel, and the Eagles still have a chance to compete at the top of the NFC East even with an uncertain sign-on.
- The WNBA Finals will be a sleeper tomorrow. And then there were two. It will be the first-time champion that Dream and the Valkyries sit four wins away from the first title in franchise history, which is a testament to the last aggressive tracks. For Atlanta, Angel Reese’s trade helped spark the season’s success. For the Valkyries, it only took two years from inception to make it this far. Our picks are in, and our experts have a split on which team holds the top spot in this series.
Don’t miss this: College football Week 7 reads

If you enjoyed college football week 6, then buckle up for week 7. This list is simply loaded with big impact games that will leave an indelible mark on the College Football Playoff race. Even some of the more under-the-radar matchups carry weight. For example Lacinia are picking up steam on the heels of its Red River Rivalry upset and another ranked team at No. They will deposit 15 Kentucky? Better watch the CFP bracket busters if so.
Speaking of the playoffs, it’s hard to discount No. 6 Alabama too after last week’s loss to No. 1 Georgia. The numbers tell us that we are indeed the best CFP Tide in the nation despite the loss. He will prevail even if the Tide resonates with a win over rival No. 14. Tennessee on Saturday the third of October. Volunteers in the Troika George MacIntyre at QB again, and Alabama has the upset as an 8.5-point underdog โ even though our experts are in near-consensus coverage of the Crimson Tide.
While we’re bringing out the cards, we’re locking in with Tom Fornelli for his Lock of the Week.
- Chimney: “No. 11” Utah He made a habit of blowing the doors off the door. In four games against FBS opponents, the Utes have outscored teams 100-23 in the first half. That’s an average lead of 19.25 points at halftime. It is the fourth best first-half margin in the country, behind only No. 2. Our LadyNo Ohio State and no. 3 Miami. I hope you guys get this one soon. Pick: Utah 1H -9.5 (-108) at DraftKings“
And here are our picks for every other marquee matchup in Week 7:
NFL Week 6 upset set up

The Weaving they finally earned their first winnings in 2026 last week, and the parallels in 2025 are clear. It was a blowout win Titans last year, who pulled off a tough stretch to open the season and hit a winning streak. What if Houston fires up again this year? The Jaguars In the second consecutive game in London, it should be known that the Texans could be fixed. Sirens were set off when the fire was disturbed.
Our Jordan Dajani wants the Texans to win right across the pond.
- Dajani: “DeMeco Ryans he calls defensive plays over and over again CJ Stroud to play really good football. In the NFL this season in the NFL! Houston is also 14-2 SU and 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 divisional games at home. Prediction: Texans 21, Jaguars 18″
“That’s not the real deal! There are only three dogs,” you might say. OK, then. How about the Titans? There are dogs to the point of seven ColtsHowever, our Tyler Sullivan says he won’t be surprised if he gets his first win of the season.
- Sullivan: “This is more about the collapsing Colts than buying stock in the Titans. This is a divisional matchup where I think the line is simply too big, and Tennessee could end up surprising some people because Indy keeps them in it. I could help this Colts defense support that was the worst in the NFL, as the Titans ranked last in scoring (11.6) and total yards (246.4).”
