To the surprise of many, Michael Carrick will continue to be in the dugout for Manchester United when they face Chelsea on Saturday. During their eight-game winless run in all competitions, United have allowed 15 goals while scoring six, and the pitch has been developing, all explaining, players and fans questioning the club’s direction. The city has been in this position before, and it basically led to a change of manager and raised the club from the foundations.
But what is different in this meeting, the players are speaking publicly. While things are sometimes revealed by sources, players saying the quiet side loudly about what is going on with the club is not a good look. Defender Lisandro Martinez spoke of the club’s need to have higher standards and stated that he lacked ambition after a poor loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, but he has gone from bad to worse in charge. Bruno Fernandes spoke After Como had been reduced to a loss, he inquired about the fighting of the team.

With Fernandes leading the way with the bench, United still failed to collect the victory again. While the public opinion is that Fernandes will retain his leadership, it has become a reality to take away at least some of Carrici’s control at the club.
“There is no decision to be made [the captaincy]” Carrick said. ” It will be Bruno. Listen, we have to clear the situation with the team and as a football club for the moment. He is the biggest player in this group. He was, and he will be.
Ahead of the match where both teams are struggling, the slightest loss of balance could still lead to another loss for the United States. Without a clear sign that the authority lies with the manager rather than the captain, especially with Carrick facing an election over his future job, this could get worse before it gets better.
What do you do if United concede an early goal and the match goes off the rails? From the evidence we’ve seen, it’s hard to say whether Carrick will be able to get the club to spiral out of it, and if he can’t, there’s no reason why he should be the manager. On paper, with too much money invested in midfield for defense, this isn’t a bad squad, but United will find themselves in the relegation race for just one season after the Champions League decider. Even the masses of them cry out in the middle, that the relegation will not perish.

That’s where the squad comes into mind. It’s been a persistent issue since Alex Ferguson left, and it’s not an issue that seems to be going away anytime soon. There will be times when you think the United States is rocking the boat, only to return in the worst possible time. Carrick is just a symptom of a bigger problem at Manchester United, and the club have gone through eight permanent managers since Ferguson took over without success. It’s not for lack of funding, and although there are questions about the renovation, for the most part, it’s been good for the teams. The righteous can never perform to the sum of their parts.
Since Jim Ratcliffe took over, the club has been marked more on the winning pitch than the achievements in it, and with United winning. Turning that around will be quite a challenge. Fan complaints have been seen, but they don’t spark real change, and we may be in a situation where United need a spell of relief at the bottom of the table to lead to something else. In short, this is already dire, and every day with Carrick at the helm the start of that place is delayed, even if that is not a handicap. United have become a club without direction, and the fact that Chelsea could use something like Xabi Alonso’s era at Stamford Bridge has signs of success, but they need results to get back on the right track.
