The Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers are back in action on Monday for Game 2 of the NLCS at American Family Stadium in Milwaukee, with first pitch set for 5 pm ET. When the Dodgers were swept in last year’s NLCS, the Brewers came out with a 2-1 lead in Game 1, as the Los Angeles offense looked vulnerable as it continued to struggle to produce hits with runners in scoring position.
The Dodgers will deploy another vinegar Monday, following a Game 1 start from Tarik Skubal with right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (14-9, 2.53 ERA) on the mound. Yamamoto’s only start this season came in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves, and he struck out 10 while giving up four hits and one earned run over seven innings.

Brewers right-hander Logan Henderson (11-3, 2.47 ERA) will start in Game 2. He most recently started Game 2 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres, 4-3 thanks to some late-game heroics from outfielder Jackson Chourio. Henderson pitched five innings in that game, striking out 4 and walking 3 while allowing 2 runs (1 earned). Left-handed hitters Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick and David Hamilton all sat back in the lineup in Game 2 against left-handed Skubal in Game 1. Yelich and Frelick both scored on Chourio’s walk-off single in Game 2 of the NLDS.

Dodgers catcher Will Smith, batting fifth, was moved down by manager Dave Roberts after going 1-for-19 in the team’s previous five postseason games.
“At the end of the day, five plate games,” he said Monday, via The Athletic. “Nobody will scare me.”
Roberts Smith in the middle of the Dodgers batting order indicated that he feels the same way and that the catcher can still produce. During the regular season, Smith slashed .260/.355/.426 with 10 home runs, 9 doubles and 34 RBI. He finished 73 games because of a neck injury.
“It’s difficult because of the body work,” Roberts told reporters, “and he just has to hit, to get a big hit.”
