Former Oklahoma RB commits to rival Texas

The Wildcats are off to a big start in their 2028 recruiting class, with four pledges already on board. That goes with 27 OU commitments in the current age of the 2017 recruiting class. But the one-time member of Oklahoma’s 2028 haul has found a new home in the rebuilding process.

Micaiah Rhodes is one of the top running backs in the ’28 class, and he committed to Sosio’s return in January. However, he was later dismissed in April, after they went through a change in the coaching staff. DeMarco Murray left to coach the Kansas City Chiefs, and OU brought in Deland McCullough to replace him, but they lost Rhodes’ pledge in the process.

Hailing from Spring, Texas, and clocking in at 25 feet and 180 pounds, Rhodes committed to the rival Texas Longhorns on Thursday, just as he did in the Red River Rivalry two days ago. The Klein Oak High School product is a four-star prospect and No. 12 running backs in the 2028 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
