Three Chimneys Farm today announced its roster and premiums for the upcoming 2027 breeding season, once again formed by Horse of the Year, Hall of Famer and sire Gun Runner, whose fee will be private following another historic year in both sales and circuses.
“We are excited to see Gun Runner’s continued success on the track and in the ring sales. We look forward to the Newgate show and Gun Runner’s first crop drives this November. We are also pleased to have Gun Runner’s Grade 1 half-brother Ottinho join our roster,” said Rebecca Nicholson, Three Chimneys Director of Stallion Nominations.

Three Chimneys will host an open house November 2-8 from 10 am-1 pm daily for stallions to view the full number of stallions for the upcoming 2027 breeding season.
Gun Runner continued to set new standards of excellence in 2026, becoming the first shooter in history to have 25 seven-year-old rings sold at public auction in a single year, remarkably representing nearly a third of the annals sold. His record breaking seasons included 10 million dollar yearlings at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale, the second first for any stallion, and 10 seven-figure yearlings in the opening session of Book 1 last September at the Keeneland Sale.
In racing, Gun Runner has added four new Grade 1 winners in 2026, including Kentucky Oaks winner Ever Runner, Travers Stakes winner Leading the Change, Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes winner Further Ado and G1 Alabama Stakes winner Gun’s Loaded. He has now produced 16 Grade 1 winners to date.
Joining No. 2027 is Gun-runner’s half-brother Ottinho, a Grade 1-making 3-year-old who qualified for the Kentucky Derby after a runner-up effort in the $1.25 million G1 Stakes Blue Grass at Keeneland. Leading the father of Quality Road, Ottinho makes access to one of the most famous families in the American study book. His introductory price will be $7,500 LFSN, and they will get the first look at Ottinho’s upcoming Open house.

Volatile, a Grade 1-winning son of Violence, who proved to be one of the industry’s first impressions of speed, announced his 2027 price after his Breeders’ Cup. Several starters are set to compete in prominent dirt races in Saturday’s Keeneland Breeders’ Cup, including Grade 1 winner TO Elvis, top contender in the $2 million Sprint, and $700,000 earner Foie Gras, contender in the $1 million Filly & Mare Sprint. The bird was well represented in the commercial market this year, with 2-year-olds selling up to $650,000 and yearlings selling up to $525,000. He has eight stakes winners to date in 2026, including Three Chimneys on Fire, a four-length winner of the $400,000 Ellis Park Derby.
Gun Pilot and Newgate, two of Chimneys three promising young Grade 1 stakes winners, are both set to drive their first crops to market at the Ventura Fasig-Tipton November and Keeneland November sales in Lexington.
Gun Pilot, a Grade 1 money-winning son of Gun-runner, will stand his third season in the 2027 stud for the $12,500 LFSN. Winner of the $1 million G1 Churchill Downs Stakes, the pilot’s first Gun driver has already been popular in the sale ring, with individuals selling for $105,000 and $100,000 at the recent Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Sale.
Newgate, a Grade 1-beaten son of In Mal, will stand for the $10,000 LFSN this coming season. An $850,000 yearling turned G1 Santa Anita Handicap winner, Newgate continues to make a physical stand by leading his sire into the saddle along with his level racing credentials.
