Welcome, officially, offseason. The Rays opened the 2026 MLB season by one day with a strong effort in Game 4 of the World Series, but the Brewers weren’t denied. They consistently outplayed Tampa Bay in Game 5, and Jacob Misiorowski turned in his best start of the season as Milwaukee secured its first title. It’s well deserved, with the Brewers showing they’re league class at every level of the road all year. Congratulations to Milwaukee!
The offseason is upon us, but let’s continue to cheer as we head into the great unknown that is this labor battle. On this morning, Madison catches me playing Game 5 in St. Petersburg, Andrés writes in praise of Ryan Yarbrough’s solid 2016 campaign. and later Peter profiled Jesse Barfield for our Yankees birthday series.
Questions/Prompts:
1. If I told you in February that the Brats would only go from wire to wire in the league and then dominate all the way around, how surprised would you be on a scale of 1-to-10?
2. How do you feel about the level of excitement in these playoffs in general? Were there enough others to support you, or did the lack of a long streak put this season down in your eyes?
