Twenty-six years later, Kurt Busch drove one of the greatest races of his life at Victory Lane, the home of his arrival.
Busch bought the original No. 99 Ford F-150 Batteries sold for $110,000 at the Mex auction in Nashville, reuniting the NASCAR champion with the best seller from the breakout 2000 Craftsman Truck Series season.

This is not just a restored image or a pain carved by the usual paint machines. Ford, known as chassis B061/CT12, is the truck Busch himself says he needed to win at Dover Motor Speedway in September 2000.
Busch celebrated her with a fitting message.
“Reunited with an old friend. So excited to have this lovely truck back. 26 years ago, this pin and I @rfkracing won @Doverspeedway in Sept 2000. Not many have the original paint and details.
And Busch seems to be putting his old friend’s plans aside for display.

The final price for the 2000 Ford Busch F-150 was $110,000, according to reported sales results.
But the history attached to the rock makes the meeting particularly meaningful.
Husch arrived on the national NASCAR scene with Roush Racing in 2000 and wasted little time establishing himself as one of the rising stars. He won four times in his rookie Truck Series campaign and finished second in the championship standings.
One of those victories came at Dover in September.
More than a quarter of a century later, Busch now has that winning car back in his possession.
The No. The 99 still carries the distinctive Exit Batteries colors, and Busch shows another part of his history that has survived the years: his original paint and airbrush work.
He does not intend to leave everything untouched. Busch said the truck was tested at Roush Vates to have its engine updated.

The 2000 season represented the beginning of Busch’s rise to speed through NASCAR.

Before that time had even passed, Busch had already reached the highest level of NASCAR. Roush moved him into the Cup Series, beginning a career that would include championships and victories in some of NASCAR’s biggest races.

That makes the No. 99 another piece of memorabilia passed by Busch.
Time means a time when the race is accelerated for a promising NASCAR Cup Series driver, and Busch knows exactly what this particular chassis has accomplished on the road.
Now, after changing hands and surviving for more than two decades, with much of its original appearance intact, the Dover-vicing Ford is back with the person who drove it there.
“He joined an old friend,” Busch wrote.
This time the meetings cost $110,000.
