Rays win back-to-back Series, Brewers secret weapon & how things went wrong for Dodgers

The Tampa Bay Rays have been in the World Series twice in their history, and although neither appearance resulted in a championship, they are now just one win away from returning to the Fall Classic for the first time since 2010 following their ALCS Game 5 win. But the Cleveland Cavaliers aren’t ready to give up just yet.

In this episode of Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz is joined by FOX Sports MLB writer Deesha Thosar as they recap the action from ALCS Games 4 and 5, which put the Rays in the driver’s seat for the rest of the series. Behind the bats of Drew Rasmussen and Yandy Díaz, the Rays are up 3-2 in the series as they look to close it out in St. Petersburg on Monday night. Will the Rangers win the do-or-die game and force a winner-takes-all game?

Later in the show, Jake and Deesha take a look at Pat Murphy’s job with the Milwaukee Brewers while they wait for their World Series opponent. They discuss how the manager has built a stronger bond with the club, which is still searching for its first ever World Series title. Then try to make sense of how things went down so quickly for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS before trying to figure out whether the New York Yankees or the New York Mets will win the next World Series.
