‘Terred’ White credits Hearn for Fury-Joshua being in the UK

Dana White believes Eddie Hearn has managed to secure the long-awaited fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in the UK, but he is “fed up” with the ongoing feud.

The heavyweight title will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff – despite attempts to host it at New York’s Madison Square Garden – in a bill that begins on December 11, although the fight is not expected to take place until the morning of December 12.

The Arab and White Knights and the Saudis wanted to compete in the United States, but Joshua and his supporter Hearn refused to have the right to a contract in the UK.

“Eddie needs to be given credit for making this buzz and making sure it’s done in the UK,” UFC President and Zuffa Boxing boss White told Steve Bunc on the 5 Live Boxing with Bunc podcast.

But there had been doubts about the contest because of the controversy over White’s role in promoting the event.

The fight, which will be shown on Netflix, is a collaboration between the powerful Saudi boxer Turki Alalshikh, the ring and the White offered.

Hearn officially broke up with White from Zuffa Boxing earlier this year and said he was “not going to do it” in the fight.

But Fury and Joshua had a meeting on September 30 to ease concerns about their fight.

White did not participate in this media event but “it will be a night for me and my team to fight.”

“I guess you’ll be one of the promoters of the event because you have Frank Warren (Fury’s promoter) and Eddie Hearn, who are both promoters, to promote the event as well,” he added.

Hearn has said many times that White could not make it to the city, but this week he suggested that he was prepared to meet with the Americans to see how he could participate.

White said that while Hearn wanted to meet, he didn’t feel the need to sit out.

“It’s boring now. Who cares? This isn’t about me and Eddie Hearn,” White said.

“It’s about AJ and Fury. It’s about this heavyweight fight.

“It’s Eddie’s show, not Dana and Eddie’s show. It’s boring now. It’s about AJ and Fury.”

“Dana and Eddie never show this. Everyone shows Eddie.”
