The Bucks change the season home opener with the Brewers hosting World Series Game 1 on the same night

The Milwaukee Bucks have moved their home opener against the Chicago Bulls to noon on Friday, October 23, to accommodate Game 1 of the World Series, which will be hosted by the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Bucks vs. Bulls matchup, which was scheduled for 7 p.m., will now go off at 3 p.m. local time. Major League Baseball has not yet officially announced the start time of Game 1 of the World Series, but it is likely to be around 7 pm CT.

Here’s a statement from the Bucks about a roster change that will create a unique biceps game in Milwaukee:

“The Brewers’ return to the World Series for the first time in 44 years is a special moment for Milwaukee and sports fans across Wisconsin. Congratulations to the Brewers and the entire organization on this tremendous feat, and we will be cheering them on as they begin their World Series run. The Bucks are proud to host our open house at 3 p.m. in recognition of this historic occasion and thanks for the opportunity.”

The Brewers, who won a franchise-record 103 games this season and had the best record in baseball, swept the World Series for the first time since 1982, advancing to the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers have reached the last two World Series and competed to become the first team to win a triple with the New York Yankees since 1998-2000.

The Brewers are playing either the Tampa Bay Rays or the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Rangers now lead the American Championship Series, 2-1. If the World Series goes the distance, there could be another scheduling conflict between the Brewers and the Bucks. Game 7 of the World Series is set for Oct. 31, and the Cleveland Bucks host the Cavaliers that night.

The Bucks, who won the 2021 NBA championship, will begin a new era when their season tips off next week. In the summer, the team traded two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat, ending the Greek Freak’s 13-season run in Milwaukee, where he became an icon.
