The Atlanta Braves have returned righty Vidal Bruján to the organization, signing him to a minor league deal, according to the team’s transaction page. Bruján, 28, played part of the 2025 season with Atlanta.
The move gives the organization depth across multiple positions as Bruján has big league experience at second base, shortstop, third base and all three outfield positions. Since he was drafted in 2021, he has appeared in 271 MLB games, but only saw action in nine contests with the New York Metropolitans last season.

Bruján doesn’t offer much offensively with little power and a poor steal success rate of barely more than 50-percent for his big league career. However, the Braves came into this matchup with almost no depth in the middle of the infield. Aside from Ozzie Albies, whose option was lifted, Jim Jarvis is the only middle infielder contracted to the 2026 team.
Bruján was drafted by the Tampa Bay Radio and played three seasons with the team. He has played for five different organizations, including the Braves, since 2024. He has a wRC+ of 53.
